Mechanical and histological properties of an electrospun scaffold with a modified surface by plasma polymerization implanted in an in vivo model

This article presents the construction of scaffolds composed polylactic acid (PLA) with different concentrations hydroxyapatite (HA) by electrospinning, which were superficially modified polypyrrole (PPy/I) plasma polymerization. A preliminary study was conducted biological and mechanical behavior when they implanted in back rabbits for 30 days; bone cells differentiated from mesenchymal stem (MSCs) used. The cell scaffold structures characterized histological, immunohistochemical, stress tests. Hematoxylin–eosin staining showed good tissue conformation. immunohistochemical tests highlighted presence main proteins, such as collagen, osteocalcin, osteopontin. PLA/HA observed to exhibit adhesion proliferation properties; however, response much better that had a higher concentration HA coated PPy/I. results indicated treatment improved properties contributed support, allowing formation neotissues viability growth.
